Ali Wins Mediterranean Games Half Marathon Title

Ali Kaya claimed the men’s half marathon gold at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, winning decisively in 1:02:06, a performance that also set a new Games record.
Ali controlled the race from the early stages and maintained a clear lead throughout, securing Türkiye’s final athletics gold of the Games.
Sıla Brings Home Four Medals from Taranto

Sıla Koloğlu produced a remarkable four‑medal campaign at the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, delivering key performances across both individual and relay events, making her the most decorated Turkish athlete of the Games.
Sıla opened her medal run in the mixed 4x400 metres relay, anchoring Türkiye to a podium finish with a strong closing leg. She then added a second medal in the women’s 4x100 metres relay, where Türkiye claimed bronze in 44.05, setting a new national record.
Turning to individual events, Sıla earned bronze in the women’s 200 metres, clocking 23.12 in one of the Games’ most competitive sprint finals.
She concluded her successful week with another relay medal in the women’s 4x400 metres, contributing decisively to Türkiye’s podium performance and sealing her impressive four‑medal haul in Taranto.
